What do People who are dying feel?
Even after a big sleep, the person feels tired. They sleep more, especially during the day, and can sometimes be hard to wake up. The body slowly winds down as it starts to ‘let go’ of life.
Some people will feel pain but the doctors and nurses give them medicines to make the pain go away.
They might forget what they were saying half way through a sentence. Becoming drowsy is a natural part of dying. Sometimes medicine used to help with pain may make a person more drowsy.
They might like peaceful times with less talking. Sometimes they may not talk at all.
Sometimes a person who is dying can make odd noises in their throat. This sound doesn’t mean they are in pain, it actually means they are very relaxed, so relaxed they do not realise they are making any sound.
